About the Artist
I am Amanda Mealy. I believe we can change the world through our art. Aiming to create in everything I do, I observe and interact with the world around me through my own creative lens and perspective. From this, I dive deeper into my own creations and my experience of life. With inspiration stemming from my connection with nature, my interactions with emotion, and a strong influence from my grandmother, it is my mission to spread positive change with my art.
My process is fluid and connected. I allow the piece to guide me, beginning with a broad idea, a design problem or goal, and a single brush stroke or line and intuitively responding to it. As the work progresses, I make decisions about color, line, shape, and texture. This process of creative spontaneity keeps me excited about the work, and keeps a sense of freedom within my art. Through this lens, I am always surprised by what I have created. Through this lens, I experience life.
